Assistance is available to reduce the impact of a government shutdown on Airmen, Guardians, civilians and their families through various means. This page contains a variety of resources and guidance to help mitigate financial, personal and other difficulties that individuals may experience during a government shutdown. Individuals requiring additional support should contact their supervisors or leaders for guidance.

Immediate Financial Relief:
Air Force Aid Society (AFAS): Offers emergency grants** and no-interest loans for basic living expenses, with potential shutdown-specific aid if pay is disrupted after October 15. (https://afas.org/)

AFAS continues to process requests through their approved categories of support and may assist with immediate needs such as basic living expenses (food, gas, utilities) if a paycheck protection option is not available from financial institutions.
