Space Base Delta 41 officially activated under the command of U.S. Space Force Colonel Eric D. Bogue during a ceremony held here, June 18, 2025.

SBD 41 is responsible for providing dedicated combat support, combat service support, and installation support to operational units and the Guardians, Airmen, and families assigned to Schriever SFB.

“To my fellow Schriever Delta partners and all Schriever tenants, this activation is in part for you and your teams. It’s a recognition that what you do matters and that your mission areas won’t succeed without our foundational power projection platforms, including resilient weapon system infrastructure and exceptional base support, said Bogue. “SBD 41 is committed to providing that support and doing everything we can to enhance and improve this installations resiliency and your mission success – we won’t, we can’t accept anything less.”

The responsibilities of SBD 41 were previously managed by Space Base Delta 1, headquartered at Peterson SFB, roughly 10 miles from Schriever. The expanding scope and importance of Space Force missions to DoD and Allied operations led leaders to re-establish an independent installation command structure focused on the missions and assigned personnel at Schriever SFB.

Bogue addresses the “passing of the baton” and stated, “team SBD 1, your relentless commitment has laid the groundwork for future success.”

Space Force installations are effectively organized for operational mission readiness and optimized mission support during competition, crisis and conflict.
Space Base Delta 41 is organized similar to the three other Space Base Deltas, with base operations squadrons reporting directly to a Space Force colonel, supported by an Air Force deputy commander and two Chief Master Sergeants, one from each service.

“The increasing demands in the space domain have clarified the need for dedicated, day-to-day focus and stewardship on combat support and weapons system infrastructure, which we will continue to do for Space Operations Command, our tenant units, and the Space Force,” said Chief Master Sgt Timothy Crouch, SBD 41 Senior Enlisted leader.
Bogue closed the ceremony by stating, “we stand on the shoulders of giants, committed to our future, and ready to continue building upon the legacy of excellence at Schriever Space Force Base. Together, we’ll set a new standard of excellence. Let’s get to work.”
