GPS Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Schriever SFB
SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Greg Phillips, Colorado Springs Airport Aviation Director, meets with U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting, Commander, Space Operations Command at Schriever SFB, CO 9 December, 2023. Mr. Phillips joined a group of local civic leaders to the base in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system. The visit, hosted by the 2nd Space Operations Ssquadron, provided an informational tour and briefing on the history, purpose, and operation of the global utility.
