Space Delta 7 - Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Targeting

Space Delta 7 - ISR and Targeting
Space Delta 7 (DEL 7) is the operational ISR and Targeting element of the U.S. Space Force. DEL 7 provides critical, time sensitive and actionable intelligence for space domain operations to allow for the detection, characterization and targeting of adversary space capabilities. DEL 7 employs a variety of fixed, mobile, and space-borne sensors across the globe operated by ISR professionals to enable the United States Space Force to gain and maintain space superiority.

MISSION
Generate, present, sustain and improve combat ready intelligence and targeting forces to fight and win during competition, crisis, and conflict.

HISTORY
DEL 7 was activated on 24 July 2020 during a ceremony at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. DEL 7 is headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base.

DEL 7 Squadrons:

71 ISRS: The 71st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, provides training for intelligence professionals across Space Operations Command and provides direct ISR support to other USSF Deltas through embedded ISR detachments. Following the absorption of 71 ISRS’ unit level detachments into their respective Mission Deltas, 71 ISRS was deactivated in the summer of 2025.

72 ISRS: The 72nd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, conducts global, deployable ISR operations to characterize adversary activity and drive space control effects for Joint Force commanders (JFCs), the USSF, and the broader intelligence community.

73 ISRS: The 73rd Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, conducts global ISR operations to support the research, development, and acquisition of future space capabilities.

74 ISRS: The 74th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, provides tailored threat analysis and intelligence production for tactical space operations. The squadron analyzes the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of current, emerging, and future adversary space, counterspace and cyberspace adversaries in relation to space mission sets.

75 ISRS: The 75th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado generates decision-quality target intelligence supporting United States Space Force Component Field Commands to enable integrated fires.  The squadron supports Component Field Commands through target development including the production of Target Systems Analys, electronic target folders (ETFs), and other target materials.  Additionally, the unit supports Capability Analysis and Combat Assessment of United States Space Force capabilities assigned or allocated to Combatant Commands.

76 ISRS: The 76th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, provides sensor-agnostic, timely intelligence to satisfy USSF and combatant command requirements, enabling comprehensive advantage in space. 76 ISRS is the first and only space ISR unit charged with exploiting and fusing intelligence data from all available sources in support of US and allied space superiority.
